One Pretty Day – NEXT LEVEL parties and events, is a luxurious, custom-tailored party and event offering.
I am a “one-woman-show”, and my aim is to be the very BEST in the business, on par with offerings on international levels. Many of my parties have been featured on top party sites in The States as well as in Australia, and in magazine publications. I spend each day researching the latest trends out there and gleaning from the best in the business!
I collaborate with a vast range of vendors and professionals, and have learnt in 10 years what does, and what does not work. My aim is to offer a superb event, with THE highest attention to detail, and be lavish in my offering to my client. I will steal my friend in the industry, Heike Hayward of Fleur le Cordeur’s mantra: “More is more is never enough!” I want my client to walk away with a heartful of memories and arms-full of spoils!
An idea of what is involved in the cost and what comprises one of my parties is as follows:
My graphic designer is London based. She designs everything from the invitation, bunting, straw flags, vinyl stickers, tote bags, food and drink labels, stickers, pringle and water bottle labels, party pack designs, lanyards, menus, etc. her abilities are endless!
SET and PROP DESIGNERS:
Some parties will require the design of very big backdrops, photo booths, 2D Cardboard figurines, vinyl applications onto backdrops etc, and I use a specific company here for that.
An event is just not the same without flowers, and I have an incredible florist who designs for me.
I rely on two of the best in the business to provide the best cakes and treats to go onto my dessert tables. The list of these will differ from party to party, as food items are matched upon client preference and many times, also what will be theme-applicable.
I usually use a specific company for this, who make incredible food, but also can liase with specific chefs in the business and create food based on religious-requirements too.
Balloons form a MAJOR part of any stunning event. I use more than one company for balloon creations, giant marquee lights etc.
Some parties will require me to rent pieces of furniture, cutlery, tablecloths, crockery, ghost chairs, tiffany chairs etc as it is impossible for myself to keep and own all of this.
Other furniture pieces such as backdrops, candy floss carts, candy carts, champagne walls, donut walls etc I do own and use certain pieces for specific parties.
ICE CREAM (softserve)/ Cotton candy/slush/popcorn machines:
I have access to these and also use as I see fit for a particular party or event theme.
WHITE BOUNCE CASTLE:
I own one of these which makes for a fun time and even exquisite photos for children and even adults!
PARTY PACKS and FAVORS:
These are specifically designed for each event, do not contain the run-of-the-mill contents and favors are also carefully thought of and sourced and normally provided in abundance, whoop whoop! (my love language is giving gifts!)
PRINTING, LASERCUT etc
I use these in copious amounts for any given party, whether it’s printing needed on tote bags, mugs, merchandise (merch) or lasercut names or wording for backdrops.
I have a range of activities I can organize, arrange or suggest that kids would love to do and will sit with the client and talk that through and arrange that for them. This cost is also covered in the quotation price.
I have a superb professional photographer who not only shoots pictures of my setups, but can stay, if you wish, and take incredible photos of the party/family etc. This cost is also included.
It takes a lot of labour in getting furniture to and from venues all over Cape Town and cleaning up and restoring venues to their original state.
Drink stations for kids and adults are seen to.
DESIGN CONCEPT A-Z:
This is done entirely by myself. Once the theme is known, I jump into action, take all the organising and stress off your shoulders as I conceptualise a breathtaking event for you and bring that to fruition. It can take many weeks of sketching it out and putting ideas from my head onto paper and detailing vendors involved.
I take pride in creating gobsmacking, jaw-dropping events. I usually need 4-6 weeks heads-up to plan a party, although I have been known to pull rabbits out of hats within a week, not the ideal! My aim is to create something dream-like and surreal which tells a story, that people talk about long after the last yummy morsel has been devoured!
I do not offer party packages or work on a “price per head” model, as you are paying for a design experience that can not be duplicated. Due to the bespoke nature of what I offer, parties are quoted individually, price upon application. Party prices begin at R60 000.00.
